Monday....Day Nine.........

The day has begun for us and I just wanted to add some photos of the New Hope Foster Home so you can get a sense of it.
Will try to add the village shots later. It is another spectacular day and worth the trip here for just that ......almost. The sunshine and warmth are glorious.

We have an outbreak of chicken pox so it should be an interesting week. We have all had them and are immunized thank gosh.

This is one of the bathrooms and shows the colour coded system at work. The same as in the bedrooms. What will they do when they run out of colours?

This amazes me!! This is the storage room and I have rarely seen such a feat of organization. Wouldn't we all love to be this tidy and neat? It was like this 8 years ago when I was here and I was just as impressed as I am now.

This is the wall outside the house where the names of the children who have died are painted.

This is just to the left of the home and is the entrance to the local village. It is quite large. Beth and Grace bike throught it and have been known to purchase candy at the local shop.

The exterior of the compound. Used to be an old school. Our apartment is to the extreme left on the second floor.

There are pictures of the children outside of their bedrooms. They are all of the kids when they first arrived and so many are years outdated and it is hard to put a name to the face of a toddler who was just a baby when they came. Some are three or more now. Some have had surgery to their faces. I am having difficulty putting the chinese name to the face. Maybe that will prove to be a good thing because it makes it less personal if you can't call someone by their name and maybe we won't be as haunted by their little faces when we go home........as we were at Starfish. All those kids went by English first names and we knew them by that. I doubt it though. They are so lovable it breaks your heart. I am drawn to several of the little boys. When they put their little arms out for you to pick them up or when they cuddle into you............
