Photos......

Lunch was tofu and a green vegetable and of course, rice. The girls like the meals and are never late. Usually it is a couple of servings.

After lunch comes nap time so we hopped on the bikes provided and it was a short ride to the village. Each village has their own impressive entrance marked by an arched entry. This one is pretty big and we will make several trips to explore it all. Particularly nice in todays weather. We call out "Ni Hao" ( hi bascially) to everyone we pass and smile. They always answer back and are friendly.

The houses are the gamut from the wealthier to the very poorest hovels that look like they have no floors, no water and basic electric. Most have the traditional entry gates decorated with colourful signs asking for wealth or luck. Inside are small courtyards. There are garbage bins on the main streets and the spring cleanup is in full swing. Lots of sweeping and piles of twigs, old corn stalks and such. A lot of water in very polluted reservoirs. Many people have started tiny gardens outside their compounds with the beginnings of green onions starting to sprout. Two old ladies inquired as to who the girls were and then politely told me off for them not having them dressed warmly enough. They were in tee shirts and jeans. Wish I could have talked to them and have them understand some of our life. The kids in China are famous for being layered in so many clothes they can barely walk. These are a few of the many shots I got today.

All the nap photos are by Grace. What little angels.
