Thursday...Day Five..........

I just noticed that all the dates on our posts are in Canadian time. I will try to change that later!!!

We awoke to day to a very grey landscape. It was a tad foggy and you could barely see the trees outside our apartment.
Since then it has warmed up and there is a little more clarity, some bluish sky and a sort of sun. There is no green at all.
We leave shortly for the Great Wall about an hour and a half away. Our personal driver will take us for 150 Yuan....about $20. Looking forward to our outing.

Preschool was a bit of a gong show today. Clearly we are not meant to be teachers. It starts at 9am with the first of many ayis'
dropping off their small charges. We have to pass through a playroom to get to the school room and we picked up two on our short trip. Then they just kept coming until we were about a dozen. Supposed to be around the 3 year age mark and up, but we had a real hodge podge from wee toddlers, to Joseph the 7 year old who comes from his foster home for the preschool. We had six kids on our list that were expected to attend. somebody forgot to tell the kids again!!

We put on some music and then they just go to town tearing through the place. We put out any fires by separating the odd bully and trying to clean up after them as they leave a trail of toys, books, dress up clothes, blocks and you name it. Grace had a group as did Beth and I have my little band. The kids have fun but pretty sure there wasn't a lot of actually learning happening. They are clearly used to coming to the "school" and love the attention and just being free to be kids. I hope that is something good.

What fun! There is nothing like a bit of organized chaos. How is Joseph? He has such a fan club and has won a lot of hearts. I am loving following your blog and seeing all those dear faces. Thank you so much for sharing it all.
