Sunday.....Day Eight......

Yesterday afternoon we got caught up in the visit of an International School from Beijing. Two bus loads of students from every country in the world whose parents work here and they attend the schools. There are many.

Spend some time talking to the teachers and some of the children. They brought quite a pile of donated gifts. Again this seems to be something the little ones are very accustomed to and they welcomed them with open arms.

The girls spent the evening playing with Katie and were invited over to her house to make brownies and eat pizza. Then they all had a hot tub and watched a movie and arrived home around nine with a plate of goodies for Mom. Where are we?

We awoke to a beautiful spring morning. Another blue sky and crisp and fresh and full of birdsong.

Kate came over and we went for a walk in the grounds with Fluffy, her dog. By 915 am we were on our way to Church.
It was a bigger crowd this Sunday and again, I enjoyed the preacher's talk very much. A great speaker from the state of Texas.

I had the pleasure afterwards of meeting a friend of the nurses named Joon. He is a real fan of Canada's and applied for immigration a few years ago and is still disappointed he was turned down. We had a nice conversation as we traveled to the market to do a little shopping on the way home. It has been quiet at the Home and if you don't speak Chinese or Tagulo (Philipino) you are pretty much on your own. A little adult conversation was welcomed.

Kate, the girls and I spent a couple of hours looking around the market and bartering for a few things. It gets so tedious and you always feel like you have been had. I manage to get the price down to usually 1/3 or 1/2. I just don't have the heart to nickel and dime these people working so hard to support themselves. Or so it seems to me.

We were home by threeish and played with the children until it was bedtime for them. Then a movie and off to bed to read by around 9 as is our routine. Usually we are up by 630.

It felt good to feel the warm sun and to stroll the streets on such a lovely spring day.
After all my talk of the internet here I couldn't blog or upload any photos so am posting this a day late.
